Showdown's unique coloring is a common pattern of the Appaloosa Horse! He was born in Saskatchewan at YOR Horses, owned by Roger and Vicki Johnson and purchased as a two year old by Brittney.
Showdown is 17 this year (2026) and has competed in numerous events and competitions including reining and ranch horse competitions.
Showdown LOVES grand entry and amps up at the sound of Thunderstruck and the cheer of the crowd!
Mirage is a big flashy mare with a big personality. This 18 year old worked her way through lessons and ranching before finding her way to Laura.
In 2025 Mirage made her way to the front of the pack as a lead horse. She thoroughly enjoys being out front and has the motor to get her drill line where it needs to be!
Last March Denise lost her very special horse Ace and although very grateful to have been able to use her husband's horse Trigger for the 2025 season, she is very excited to introduce her new mount Tucker!
Tucker is a beautiful 5 year old QH/Paint gelding who has some very big shoes to fill! Denise and Tucker have already got off to a great start on flag work so we know this pair will excel in the drill for 2026! This may be Tucker's first rodeo but Denise is no stranger to the team!
We are excited to watch this pair build their bond this season!
Wicked is a 6 year old quarter horse mare & if you've got somewhere to go she will get you there! This is her third year on the drill with the Buckshot Bandits, she aims to please and can't wait to get in the arena!
Tara officially got to call Wicked 'mine' in the summer of 2025 when she purchased Wicked from Brittney! Wicked and Tara bonded right away and occasionally share a glass of wine (whether Tara gives her permission or not)!
Morty is a chestnut AQHA gelding bred and born in Evansburg Alberta. He was purchased by Bailey as a 4 year old and has been her heart horse ever since.
From cowboy challenge clinics, to penning and sorting, mountain riding and grand entry, Morty has done a bit of everything!
He loves carrots, bum scratches and any attention he can get!
Kaitlyn purchased Tanner last spring as a horse for her daughter and he ended up being a lot more horse than she had planned for her. Luckily for Tanner, Kaitlyn really took a shining to him and decided to keep him for herself!
Tanner enjoys as much attention as he can get and sulks if he isn't the horse to be chosen to ride for the day. He is also very food motivated.
We look forward to having Tanner and Kaitlyn in the drill for 2026!
Jayde comes from a long line of cowboys and cowgirls! She and her pony Dash have come a long way since she bought him in 2021!
Jayde worked her butt off in 2025 as our stand in rider on the drill & carrying the Canadian flag.
For 2026 Jayde will be joining our team as a full member on the drill!
Whiskey is a 7 year old QH mare. Candace has owned her since she was a yearling and they have an inseperable bond. Whiskey has definetly proven herself to be Candace's heart horse. <3
Whiskey loves to work and has been used for almost everything from drill, mounted shooting, sorting, penning, parades, therapy and even has tackled the terrain of the backcountry!
She does however, have an uncanny ability to get herself into trouble and injure herself in the most unbelievable ways! Her scars are a testament to her resiliency and quirkiness!
Royal is just that, ROYAL! The blonde beauty of the group, Royal enjoys mountain trips, grand entry and a good photo op! She's always hamming it up for the camera sticking her tongue out!
April has owned Royal since she was 3 and April herself has been in the saddle since she was only 4 years old! April appreciates a cold beer on a hot day!
Bonnie has been with the Buckshot Bandits since the teams conception and is heading into her fifth year! Her horse, Jack, is entering his fourth.
Jack brings plenty of character along with talent! He has a funny quirk - if the flag is hanging beside him, he'll spin like a reining horse! Although, once that flag is upright he is all business!!!
Together Bonnie & Jack spend their time trail riding, mountain riding and competing in skijor throughout the winter months.
